WFBCDC supports community needs which include Affordable Housing Development & Management services, Workforce Development and Business Investment services, as well as Homeownership Training and Personal Finance Education services.
We also strongly believe in supporting other community-based organizations by sharing our financial and human capital, providing support and consultation services for a more impactful effort. Historically, our collaborative partnerships supported access to childcare, senior housing, after-school programming, health & wellness initiatives as well as comprehensive services for a vulnerable youth population.

WFBCDC continues to support families with opportunities to grow via personal financial counseling services as well as through 1st Time Homebuyer Education & Counseling services. As a certified provider of a THDA approved Pre-Purchase Homebuyer Education Initiative, the agency supports expanding access to the American Dream – Homeownership, while also working with clients on being mentally, emotionally and financially prepared for the experience.

Flagship Affordable Housing Development Projects
The William Franklin Buchanan Building
Our agency collaborated with the North Nashville Community Development Corporation, MDHA and the Mayor's Office in 2005 to build the William Franklin Buchanan Building, a beautiful 18,000 square feet mixed-use project. The structure contains 6,000+ square feet of commercial office space on the ground floor and 12 one- and two-bedroom loft-inspired apartments on the second and third floors.

Fifteenth Avenue Baptist
Village Manor Senior Residences
In 2005, our agency sponsored the construction of The Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Village Manor, an affordable retirement living property for seniors (62 years and older. Located at 1015 Scovel Street, the Village Manor provides 25 one-bedroom apartment homes.
For those who qualify, monthly rental payments do not exceed 30% of adjusted personal monthly income.
